E3 2017 is far from over just because the Big 3 have spoken. In fact, these next two days is often the most exciting with a lot to come for the biggest titles this year. None the less, we put together a quick recap of the most exciting highlights from E3 so far and the biggest announcements from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony! There was so much exciting stuff going on, we had to break this out into three separate articles!

  • E3: Big Three Recap - Microsoft (coming soon)
  • E3: Big Three Recap - Sony (<- You are here)
  • E3: Big Three Recap - Nintendo (coming soon)

Sony at E3 2017

E3 2017 was pretty exciting for Playstation lovers. Although they didn't have a whole new console to unveil, they didn't let anyone down either. With some massive titles like God Of War and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, we're sure their fans have plenty to look forward to. Sony also had some to say about Playstation VR although we wouldn't call it a stand alone console reveal like the XB One X, it's still impressive in it's own right. So let's get to some trailers and details!

Days Gone

There has been a lot of anticipation around Days Gone leading up to E3 2017. With a teaser trailer circulating around social media wetting gamers appetites, we're glad we got some follow through at the expo. Bend Studio's open-world zombie RPG Looks absolutely amazing, from the vast and diverse environment right down to the sheer, bed-wetting amount of freakers the game can render on screen at one time, players should be pleased

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Another highly anticipated title that got more than a little love at E3 this year was the latest installment of Uncharted. In The Lost Legacy, players will be following two returning characters from the series, Chloe and Nadine. The pair is searching across India, sans Nathan Drake, in an effort to uncover a mysterious Hindu legend. Naughty Dog expects Uncharted: The Lost Legacy to be released August 22nd of this year.

God Of War

Excuse me if I get a little fan-boyish about this one, it's been almost 10 years since my God Of War itch has been scratched. Kratos returns to our screens, although the setting seems to have taken a shift from Greek to Norse (at least the mythology has). God Of War's E3 trailer also shows of Kratos' companion... His son! That's right, Kratos is a daddy and his son, Atreus, will follow his pops around while he fights mythical beasts, lobbing enchanted arrows at foes. Although we didn't get an exact date, we do know that we can expect an early 2018 release.

Shadow Of The Colossus

Possibly one of the most iconic titles in Playstation history, we got a peak at the full remaster of Shadow Of The Colossus and players couldn't be more excited. It's not the first time the title got an HD remaster, we did get one for PS3. That doesn't change the fact that the footage we got at E3 2017 was simply awe inspiring.

Destiny 2

This recap would be complete without a including one of the most popular titles of the year. Although not a Playstation exclusive, we had to at least mention Destiny 2. The cinematic trailer at E3 2017 gave us a close up of the titles antagonist, Ghaul. The trailer shows the big bad brute kicking a Guardian around like a rag doll before tossing him off a cliff.

Ace Combat 7 & Playstation VR

We couldn't think of a better title to feature PS:VR. Ace Combat 7: Deadly Skies rekindles a fire for a lot of veteran Playstation gamers. All of which were undoubtedly stunned by the footage of the latest installment portrayed in virtual reality. PS:VR also got some love with a Skyrim demo showing off players hacking, slashing and casting their way through the beautifully rendered world of Tamriel. Don't take our word, check it out!

Conclusion

Some attendees were a little disappointed with Sony's E3 2017 performance. The main complaint was the lack of games as compared to previous years. None the less, Playstation fans have a lot to look forward to this year and a diverse set of up coming titles. This is by no means a conclusive list of all things Sony this year. There was a lot more going on that we just didn't get to. We hope you enjoyed our favorite trailers from E3 2017.
