Compliance & Ethics serves as the “central nervous system” of the Compliance & Ethics Program, but each team member is responsible for reporting any questionable ethical actions or suspected violations. Under the guidance of the chief compliance & ethics officer, Compliance & Ethics receives and evaluates information that is disseminated to various skilled individuals to investigate and report findings. Questions, complaints, concerns and suggestions come to the department from numerous sources, such as team members, patients, clients, physicians, visitors and community members. Working with the appropriate staff, action plans are developed, executed and monitored to ensure that desired outcomes are attained. The department does not replace other activities within the organization (e.g., risk management or safety management) but serves as a resource for information and coordination of compliance, which affects every facility, site, department and individual within the organization.

The mission of the Compliance & Ethics Program at Orlando Health is to assist the organization with its commitment to conducting its business in full compliance with applicable federal and state statutes, regulations, the Code of Conduct and corporate policy. The program assists in supporting and maintaining a culture of compliance, integrity and business ethics within the organization. Further, the program aids in the prevention, detection, and resolution of deviations from expected behavior, whether intentional or not.
